I don't know if it is a failure of the limitations of this kind of computer animation that they don't show her getting impaled by her own poison dagger? Or if they just don't want to show a woman being beaten and or killed by a man in Chinese TV? The final battle in the otherwise excellent donghua Dragon's Disciple - showcased this ad nauseum. The big battle with his biggest rival/nemesis at the very end was with a young girl. This was a public boxing match (kungfu vs. muai thai) with hundreds or maybe thousands of spectators. The girl beat the living hell out of his body and also bloodied his face repeatedly so severely that he was dizzy and could barely see or stand up. Of course the mc won the fight in the end but he never once hit her face. Nor did he ever punch her, even though mc had many punching slug-fests throughout the various episodes. He only threw her (judo type throws) a couple of times and did a couple of double palm strikes to her belly. More or less a push that threw her back. Not at all like a severe body blow that would cause a smaller person (like a girl) to double over and spit blood. I am not looking for anyone to beat up any women or glorify violence against them, but this was truly a disappointing fight and I wonder about self-censorship to the point of absurdity.

Or in the case of this donghua it might just be bad or lazy animation.
